About the project
My dad is a sales agent, he travels many kilometres every day, and his car is his second house: I’m not used to see him here within the four walls of our home, but it’s necessary during this “never-ending Sunday” quarantine. My mum is a teacher, distance teaching it’s the new way of schooling and the smartphone it’s one of the homeworking tools. Out of the blue, suddenly, we found ourselves in a situation we could have never imagined. The blue, such a deep blue in the sky, at this time of the year it starts to show up at 6 pm, when Civil Protection issues the daily report. There is an external horizon we can enjoy from our terraces, climbing over the neighbours’ roofs with our look. Those houses, in the blue of the night, don’t reflect anymore the sun rays, but shine lights from the rooms. There is also an internal horizon, the dearest loved ones, and a chance of connection is possible by photographing them. All the pictures have been shot in Francavilla Fontana (Br) between March and April 2020.
Bio
Gabriele Fanelli (1986) graduated in Philosophy. In 2014, he attended Luz Academy at LUZ Agency (Milan). He worked as set photographer. In 2019 he took part in Smart as photography – Be an artist today exhibition (Biennal of Contemporary Photography, Mannheim). His pictures have been published by Modern Farmer (USA), La Gazzetta dello Sport, Rivista undici, Sportweek. One of his pictures is listed in the Familiar stranger book (PH Museum). In 2018 he founded Studio Lampo.

About the project
Mio padre è un agente di commercio, di solito è sempre in giro, tanti chilometri ogni giorno, l’auto è la sua seconda casa: non sono abituato a vederlo sempre qui tra quattro mura, ma è una condizione necessaria in questa eterna domenica imposta dalla quarantena. Mia madre è un’insegnante, la didattica a distanza è il nuovo modo di fare scuola e il cellulare è uno dei nuovi strumenti di lavoro da casa. Out of the blue, di punto in bianco, ci siamo ritrovati in una situazione che non avremmo mai immaginato. Il blu, quel blu così intenso nel cielo, in questo periodo dell’anno inizia a vedersi intorno alle 18, quando la protezione civile dirama il suo bollettino giornaliero. C’è un orizzonte esterno di cui possiamo godere dai terrazzi, scavalcando con lo sguardo i tetti delle case intorno, che nel blu della sera non respingono più i raggi del sole, mentre emanano luce dalle stanze. C’è anche un orizzonte interno, che è quello degli affetti, una possibilità di relazione è quella di fotografarli. Tutte le foto sono state scattate a Francavilla Fontana (Br) tra marzo e aprile 2020.
Bio
Gabriele Fanelli (1986) è laureato in Filosofia. Nel 2014, presso l’agenzia LUZ (Milano) ha frequentato la Luz Academy. Si è occupato di fotografia di scena. Nel 2019, ha partecipato alla mostra Smart as photography - Be an artist today, (Biennal of Contemporary Photography, Mannheim). Le sue foto sono state pubblicate da Modern Farmer (USA), La Gazzetta dello Sport, Erodoto108, Rivista undici, Sportweek. Una sua foto è presente nel volume Familiar stranger (PH Museum). Nel 2018, ha fondato Studio Lampo.
