Emmy 2020: tutte le nomination
Ieri, 28 luglio, sono state rivelate le nomination agli Emmy 2020. Gli Oscar per la televisione, che ogni anno incoronano le serie tv e i programmi che hanno trionfato nella stagione, nel 2020 hanno deciso di dare un importante segnale. Mai, infatti, come in questa edizione degli Emmy, le nomination hanno visto la presenza importante di nominati afrodiscendenti.

Ben il 34,5% delle 106 nomination nel campo della recitazione sono state conquistate da attori e attrici black con il caso emblematico, tra gli altri, dell'attrice Maya Rudolph che sarà "contro se stessa" per il suo lavoro in The Good Place sia per quello al Saturday Night Live. Tra gli altri nominati Billy Porter, Sterling K. Brown, Zendaya, Anthony Anderson, Don Cheadle, Issa Rae, Tracee Ellis Ross, Regina King, Jeremy Pope, Octavia Spencer e Kerry Washington.
Sempre per quanto riguarda i record vanno segnalate le 160 nomination portate a casa da Netflix a cui si aggiunge anche la nomination di Brad Pitt che è stato nominato esclusivamente per la sua breve, ma incredibile, imitazione di Anthony Fauci al SNL.

Ma se possiamo gioire per una (finalmente) adeguata rappresentanza della comunità afrodiscendente alle nomination, dall'altra non possiamo che accodarci a una piccolissima nota di colore (scuro) sollevata da Vulture e legata a The Morning Show: la serie che racconta la difficile vita delle donne all'interno degli show televisivi del mattino ha portato ben quattro nomination per quattro uomini e solamente una per una donna (Jennifer Aniston). Curioso, no?
