GRANT • Photo Vogue Festival 2021 & Studio RM

For the sixth edition of Photo Vogue Festival, Vogue Italia has launched the Reframing History scouting initiative aimed at young emerging talents specialized in photography and video inviting those who wish to participate to submit a photography or an audio-visual project that makes use of alternative methods to tell a story. 

The underlying mission of Photo Vogue has always been to support photography talents and build a future based on diversity, awareness, ethics and inclusivity within the fashion and image-based sector. Those values are the same championed also by PVF, which seeks to engage the most promising photographers in exhibitions, online showcases and the production of branded contents. 

Photo Vogue remains loyal to its commitment by launching, for the very first time - as part of the Reframing History scouting initiative – a grant in collaboration with Studio RM, a prestigious creative studio with offices in London and New York, specialising in colour grading and post production for film, print and digital.

The two participants – a photographer and a video maker – deemed by our international jury panel to have submitted the two most significant and interesting projects will receive a 5,000€ cash grant each, offered and paid by Studio RM, that can be used by the photographer and by the video maker to further their artistic endeavours and growth, which includes embarking on new photography and audio-visual projects. 

In addition, the two participants will have the opportunity to exhibit their projects at the festival and on Studio RM’s social media. This is a unique occasion for them to showcase their work to renowned curators, photo editors and artists and continue building their career. 

The idea to set up a grant was born out of shared values between PVF and Studio RM, which has always been committed to discovering and supporting talented photographers and video-makers and to creating a fairer and more inclusive sector. Studio RM was founded by Robert Moore in 2010 and, besides collaborating with established artists such as Zoë Ghertner, Glen Luchford, Charlotte Wales, Campbell Addy, Jack Davison, Alasdair McLellan and Adrienne Raquel to name a few, aims to help young creatives mature their unique vision to the best. Thus, they have launched “Studio RM Discovers”, a series of interviews with new and extraordinary talent who are shaping the industry and can be viewed on their social media platforms.

In occasione della sesta edizione del Photo Vogue Festival, Vogue Italia ha lanciato l’iniziativa di scouting Reframing History, volta supportare giovani talenti emergenti nel settore fotografico e audiovisivo, richiedendo a coloro che desiderano partecipare alla stessa di ideare un progetto fotografico o audiovisivo che utilizzi metodi alternativi per raccontare una storia.

La mission di Photo Vogue è da sempre quella di sostenere il talento fotografico e costruire un futuro di diversità, consapevolezza, etica e inclusione nel mondo della moda e dell'immagine. Valori portati avanti anche da PVF attraverso il coinvolgimento dei fotografi più promettenti in mostre, esposizioni online e produzione di branded contents.

Questo impegno di Photo Vogue trova un'ulteriore attuazione concreta proprio nell’ambito dello scouting Reframing History, attraverso l'istituzione per la prima volta di un GRANT in partnership con Studio RM, prestigioso studio creativo con sedi a Londra e New York, specializzato in servizi di post-produzione per film, stampa e digitale.

I due partecipanti - un fotografo e un video maker -– che avranno realizzato i due progetti ritenuti maggiormente significativi dalla giuria  internazionale di esperti chiamata ad esaminare e valutare i progetti presentati, riceveranno infatti un importo di 5.000 € ciascuno, messo a disposizione ed erogato in favore degli stessi dallo Studio RM,  che potrà essere utilizzato dal fotografo e dal videomaker per portare avanti la propria ricerca e crescita artistica, anche intraprendendo nuovi progetti in ambito fotografico e audiovisivo.

Inoltre, i due partecipanti avranno la possibilità di esporre il proprio lavoro sia nell’ambito del festival sia sui canali social di Studio RM. Un'occasione unica per mostrare i propri progetti a celebri curatori, photo editor e artisti e per proseguire nella costruzione della propria carriera.

L'idea del GRANT nasce dalla condivisione degli stessi valori da parte di PVF e Studio RM, da sempre impegnato nella scoperta e supporto di fotografi e video maker di talento e nella creazione di un sistema più equo ed inclusivo. Studio RM, fondato da Robert Moore nel 2009, oltre a collaborare con artisti affermati come David Sims, Coco Capitán, Harley Weir e Jack Davison, solo per citarne alcuni, si prefigge di aiutare i giovani creativi a maturare al meglio la propria visione unica. In questa direzione lo studio ha avviato l'iniziativa “Studio RM - always discovering the best new talent” che consiste in…e “Studio RM discovers” una serie di interviste ai nuovi talenti con cui lavorano visibile sulle piattaforme social.
