Justine Skye Launched a Collab With H&M, and We've Got Exclusive BTS Photos
This season, Justine Skye is launching a collaboration with H&M, and it's every bit as cool and versatile as the singer herself. The 17-piece collection has everything from sweatsuits to miniskirts, bandanas, and a chain-link belt we want to wear all the time. Skye worked closely with her stylist and creative director Ade Samuel to create something modern and wearable, and they definitely delivered. We got the chance to sit down with Skye to learn a bit more about the collection, and she told us everything. Let's just say there are nods in the collection to Princess Diana, her Jamaican roots, and pieces she's wanted for her own wardrobe. A huge part of the collection has an athleisure vibe to it, which is no accident.
"I wanted to make pieces that people felt comfortable in but would still look cute in. I just incorporated pieces that I enjoy in my own personal closet, and made it my own," she said. That elevated sense of comfort is evident in one of Skye's favorite pieces, the gray sweatsuit.

"I put a lot of time into it because I love sweatpants," she said. "If I could live in sweatpants I would, and I wanted to make sure that it [felt] the right way. I've always wanted to make the perfect sweats, and we definitely achieved that." The matching sweatshirt, though, has a very famous inspiration. "I wanted to make it something that was casual but fashionable, so we extended the neck. I took inspiration from Princess Diana when she was in her athleisure, and that drew me to make my own version of what that sweater was."
That Harvard sweatshirt photo is iconic, and Skye's pal Hailey Baldwin channeled that same look for a British Vogue spread. It's impossibly cool, and one of our top picks from the collection.
The entire collection is very personal to Skye, and every detail, from the leg of the sweatpants to the prints and matching sets, is very intentional. "The all-over print for both the plaid and the cloud pieces were kind of stemming in aspect from my Caribbean roots because if you look into Jamaican fashion, we love patterns, we love a matching outfit."
When we first saw the collection, we gravitated toward the accessories. The chain belt, cloud-print bandana, plaid minibag, and baseball cap are all items we could see fitting into just about anyone's wardrobe, and Skye agrees.

"We created these pieces so that they can be incorporated into an outfit in many ways," she said. "You don't have to use the chain belt as just a belt, you can put it on the purse. You don't have to use the cloud bandana as just the bandana, you can use it as a hair tie, you can wrap it around your bun. I encourage people to try new things."
The collection is fun, and straddles the line perfectly between statement-making and easy to wear; at H&M prices, this needs to be in your wardrobe ASAP. Plus, as gorgeous as the campaign images are, we've got a few exclusive BTS photos that show you what it takes to get the shot. Now, if you'll excuse us, we've got some shopping to do.
