Billie Eilish non è stata aiutata dai genitori

"La calunnia è un venticello" cantava don Basilio nel primo atto del Barbiere di Siviglia scritto da Rossini. A quanto pare, dal 1800 ad oggi, le cose non sono particolarmente cambiate. E non lo sono in misura tale da costringer Billie Eilish e il fratello Finneas, suo produttore, a doversi difendere dall'accusa di nepotismo. Nello specifico i due fratelli hanno dovuto imbracciare Twitter per specificare che il fatto che loro vivano a Los Angeles e che i genitori abbiano una carriera come attori (sono figli di Patrick O'Connell e di Maggie Baird) non li ha raccomandati in alcun modo né gli ha particolarmente spianato la strada.

Ha scritto infatti Finneas in un tweet: "Ho pagato il loro mutuo l'anno scorso e Billie ha dato uno stipendio ad entrambi per fare il tour con noi full time anche se ci hanno detto più volte che avrebbero lavorato per noi gratuitamente".

Un messaggio come minimo poco elegante, che denota un certo nervo scoperto e che il producer ha subito cancellato con tante scuse. Come si può leggere ancora sul suo profilo.
