Yes, Chris Pine Loves His Wonder Woman Fanny Pack Too - It's a "Very Clever Device"

Chris Pine returns as Diana Prince's love interest Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman 1984, which is now available to stream on HBO Max if you haven't already joined in on all the '80s fun. Rivaling Diana's white wrap dress as the most fashionable moment in the film is Steve's own wardrobe - we watch on gladly as he dresses up in retro athleisure look after retro athleisure look.

Costume designer Linda Hemming broke down the outfit we see him wearing for the longest amount of time in an interview with GoldeGlobes.com. The black nylon Members Only jacket and custom matching pants are finished with red, white, and blue Nike Cortez sneakers and a gray fanny pack that has caught the eyes of Twitter users and Wonder Woman fans everywhere. "Chris Pine's fanny pack is everything," you'll probably hear from friends who have already seen the movie. Pine confirmed that the look was dreamed up by director Patty Jenkins, and Hemming revealed that the fanny pack is actually a custom accessory from the costume design team's workshop - an essential, really, since it was a typical look for many guys back then.

Steve also dresses up in zippered combat trousers, a riff on '80s club wear, complete with a miniature American flag pouch, just to really drive the point home that Chris Pine looks good in a fanny pack. In fact, the actor commented on the throwback style moment on Live With Kelly and Ryan in early December, before the film's release: "The fanny pack, I will say, is a very clever device . . . I think for a gentleman, or anyone that really wants to wear a well-fitted pant, the fanny pack provides both a protection of the silhouette of the pant while also providing incredible storage space," he said.

Ahead, catch a glimpse of Chris Pine making this moment happen in Wonder Woman 1984, then shop his style if you feel so inclined. We definitely do, but we're sure we didn't have to tell you that.
