Meghan Markle's Slogan T-Shirt Shows Support For Women and Girls in Iran

Meghan Markle is making it clear that she understands the power of a statement T-shirt. On Tuesday night, she attended a Spotify event at the company's Los Angeles headquarters in support of "Archetypes," her new podcast on the platform. For the event, the 41-year-old mom of two employed a business-casual approach toward her wardrobe, pairing a reported Etsy find with high-fashion trousers.

Printed in Farsi, Markle's black T-shirt read "women, life, freedom," making a sartorial show of support for the Iranian protestors currently fighting and speaking out against hijab rules. Protests have been ongoing since the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini, who died in police custody on Sept. 16 after she was arrested for allegedly wearing her headscarf too loosely.

Archewell charity's President Mandana Dayani and its executive vice president of global communications, Ashley Momtaheni, who are both Iranian, joined Markle at the Spotify event.

"I am so grateful to work with incredible women like Meghan and my fellow Iranian colleague and friend, Ashley Momtaheni, as we continue to highlight the bravery and courage of the women and young girls on the frontlines of one of the most important feminist movements of our lives," Dayani wrote in an Instagram post.

While it's not clear where Markle sourced her particular tee, several dupes are currently available on Etsy. As for the rest of her stylish ensemble, the duchess wore black crepe trousers by Valentino, topped off with teardrop earrings and stacked metallic bracelets. Ahead, shop pieces inspired by Markle's latest look.
