Sabrina Carpenter Puts the Micro Trend to the Test in a Barely-There Pleated Miniskirt
Sorry, Barbie - Sabrina Carpenter is in her Bratz doll era. The singer took the stage in a pleated miniskirt and sky-high platform boots on June 13 during the Glasgow, Scotland leg of her Emails I Can't Send Tour. She completed the outfit with a white Stolen Stores heart-shaped bra and a sheer rhinestone top with bell sleeves. Carpenter's look also came with a few sparkling accessories, including a white microphone with a shimmering heart decal.
The most eye-catching part of Carpenter's 2000s-inspired outfit was her I.Am.Gia Remini Skort. The hidden shorts made the micro skirt stylish and functional as Carpenter strutted across the stage, serenading the crowd in front of an illuminated, heart-shaped arch. Equally striking were her nearly six-inch Naked Wolfe platforms. The knee-high boots featured an extra-tall heel and perfectly emulated the swappable shoes worn by Barbie's rivals. On her hands, Carpenter also wore a glittery manicure with a red heart on each nail - the perfect finishing touch for her heart-embellished look.
While Carpenter's ensemble radiated Bratz energy, the outfit also featured elements of the Barbiecore trend. Carpenter has embraced the Barbie style trend with a few of her previous tour looks, including a series of hot pink miniskirts, dramatic co-ord sets, and pastel pink platforms straight from Barbie's Dreamhouse wardrobe. So, team Barbie? Team Bratz? It seems like Carpenter won't officially be choosing sides anytime soon, but we're here for all of her glam looks in the meantime.
With just over a month left on tour, we expect Carpenter will be closing out her last set of shows in true style. As we wait to see more of her tour wardrobe, see Carpenter's Glasgow ensemble, including her sky-high platforms, from all angles ahead.
